Mental Health Matters

My father suffered from schizophrenia for as long as I knew him and eventually took his own life.

He was a wonderful man, kind, caring and warm hearted but he suffered greatly with his debilitating illness.

My wonderful mother and I cared for him throughout his illness but he struggled every day with deep depression and the constant illness eating away at him.

Without our love and support my father would not have been able to manage his own life and would undoubtedly have ended up living on the streets. An unbearable thought.

I cannot imagine the stress my mum went through as she tried to raise a young child with a husband who was suffering with severe mental illness. All the while doing her best to look after me but also care for my dad. Add to that she was working hard to build a successful career. A truly amazing mother and wife and loving friend to so many.

I lost my incredible mother to cancer in 2019 she was brave, strong and loving to the end.

As you can imagine this took a real toll on my own mental wellbeing but I am now in the happiest place I could possibly imagine as I prepare to marry the love of my life.

Life can be brutal, everyone has experienced difficult challenges in their lives but it can also can be wonderful and all things considered I am an incredibly lucky person. Not everyone has been as fortunate as me and that is why I am raising money for Get Up and Give Back GUGB. This cause is supporting 2 charities StrongMen and The Lucy Rayner foundation. Both provide immediate, life changing and saving support for people experiencing mental health challenges.

The target is for all of us at Property Entrepreneur to walk 150 million steps in 12 weeks. I have been slow to share my story because it is so personal so I am behind with donations.

I really do need help to get my donations in.

Please give what you can knowing that Mental Health Matters and it effects us all.
